Process for removing NOx from flue gases

A process for removing NOx from flue gases produced by underfiring for synthesis gas generation is described. It is proposed that hydrogen is separated off from a gas fraction remaining after separating off the synthesis product, at least some of the reduction gas so obtained is admixed to the flue gas and, together with this, is conducted over a catalyst suitable for conversion of the NOx. <IMAGE>
