PURPOSE:To obtain a solution for dissolution of metal which dissolves a specific metal selectively among two or more kinds of metal, by adding copper nitrate to a solution consisting of specific percentage of sulfuric acid, organic acid, and water to the extent beyond the saturation solubility. CONSTITUTION:Copper nitrate is added to the solution consisting of, by weight, 30-70% sulfuric acid, 5-40% organic acid, and 5-60% water to the extent beyond the saturation solubility to prepare the slurry-state solution for dissolution of metal; here, acetic acid, formic acid, benzoic acid, tartaric acid, oxalic acid, or the like can be used as the organic acid, and the copper nitrate may contain water of crystallization. By use of this solution for dissolution, when nickel or its alloy and copper or its alloy are present, the nickel or its alloy can be selectively dissolved in a short time.
