PURPOSE:To obtain a picture image having shelf stability for a long period by combinedly using a specified cyclic imido compound and a dihydroxypyrimidine compound having an alkyl thio-ether group when an image receiving layer contains a maleic acid copolymer and/or an acrylic acid copolymer. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving layer contains at least one kind of compound represented by formula I (where Z is a group of atoms required to complete a 5- or 6-membered imido ring contg. 1-3N atoms, and the ring may have amino, alkyl, preferably 1-4C alkyl, halogen, carboxyl or aryl as a substituent) as a solvent for silver halide and at least one kind of compound selected among compounds represented by formulae II, III (where each of R1 and R5 is alkyl, each of R2 and R6 is H, alkyl or halogen, each of R3, R4, R7 and R8 is H or alkyl, and each of (m) and (n) is an integer of 0-5). An image receiving element having the image receiving layer contains a maleic acid copolymer and/or an acrylic acid copolymer. |
