PURPOSE:To attain correction of head displacement at intermittent slow reproduction by using a signal obtained by adding a signal generated based on a signal from each reproducing head to a low frequency tracking signal so as to apply displacement control of each head. CONSTITUTION:A tracking signal outputted from a phase inverting circuit 14 is inputted to an HPF15, an LPF16 and switches 17, 18. A signal passing through the HPF15 and the LPF16 is inputted to adders 23, 24. The switches 17, 18 are made conductive when one of the heads 2, 3 makes reproduction to pass through the tracking signal alternately and is inputted to the LPFs 20, 21. A low frequency component is extracted respectively from the LPFs 20, 21 and fed to the adders 23, 24. An output of the adders 23, 24 is inputted to head displacement devices 25, 26 to displace the towheads 2, 3 in the scanning direction and the vertical direction. Thus, the head displacement by tape intermittent running at intermittent slow reproduction is corrected. |
