Curtain suspension apparatus comprises a rail 1 including a runner receiving channel 2, first and second longitudinal ducts 3, 4 receiving opposed runs of an endless drawstring 5 and respectively disposed above and to one side of the channel 2, first, second and third longitudinal slots 6, 7, 8 extending from the channel 6 respectively to the exterior of the rail 1 and to the ducts 3, 4, and a main runner 28 with a split sleeve 29 slidably engaged on the drawstring 5 and a staple-like coupling member 31 which is releasably engageable in the drawstring 5 to secure the runner 28 to the drawstring 5. The runner 28 has depending spring fingers 30 with grooves 34, 35 which resiliently grip the coupling member 31 to hold it in either of its positions of engagement or disengagement with the drawstring 5. A second main runner 26 has plug-in projections 27 extending transversely through the third slot 8 and piercing reinforced ends of the drawstring 5 to complete the endless drawstring loop. A front wall 15 of the rail 1 serves as a pelmet. Rail sections are secured together end-to-end by and between clamped plates 16, 17. Wall brackets or suspension hangers may engage a rearwardly open hollow section 10 of the rail 1.</p> |
