PURPOSE:To provide the titled composite giving the concentration peak in a tumor tissue after definite period by the direct administration to the tumor tissue, and exhibiting excellent radiotherapeutic effect, by mixing a specific nitrobenzene compound with a water-soluble or water-swelling polymer. CONSTITUTION:The titled composite can be prepared by mixing (A) the nitrobenzene compound of formula (X is halogen; Y is -COZ, -CH2OR, etc.; Z is -OM1/a, -OR1, etc.; R1 is H, alkyl, etc.; R is H, alkyl, acyl, etc.; M is group IA or IIA metall; a and n are 1 or 2; m is 0, 1 or 2) with (B) a water-soluble or water- swelling polymer (e.g. starch, dextrin, PVA, etc.). The concrete examples of the compound of formula are sodium 2,3-dinitrobenzoate, lithium 3,4- dinitrobenzoate, etc. The concentration of the sensitizing agent in the tumor tissue reaches the maximum level at the time of radiotherapy by the use of the titled composite, and the effect of radiotherapy can be improved.
