The invention relates to a method for generating a special-effect smoke for theatres, discotheques or the like by evaporating a smoke fluid on the basis of oil or glycol water, the smoke generator working with a smoke fluid having another smoke generator assigned to it which creates a smoke-like aerosol on the basis of air/water and optionally carbon dioxide; the two smokes thus generated can be injected into one another, mixed and proportioned depending on the desired effect.
