PURPOSE:To copy easily a part of documents by providing a hand scanning input device and a dot printer driven by an output of one dimensional image sensor. CONSTITUTION:A hand scanning input device 1 has such an external shape as a fluorescent pen and in the device, a luminous diode, a 'Selfoc(R)' lens array, a CCD one dimensional image sensor, a pressure sensing switch are incorporated. An output of the CCD one dimensional image sensor is transmitted to a dot printer. An original surface 3 is irradiated by the luminous diode 4, and an image on the original surface is formed on the CCD one dimensional image sensor 6 by the 'Selfoc(R)' lens array 5. A belt body of the 'Selfoc(R)' lens array is a cylindrical glass rod and a refractive indexis parabolically reduced from a center to a circumferential edge. These lenses are arranged in a line to make an array 5 and both end surfaces thereof form a flat short focal point lense.
