A food supplement for reducing iron deficiency in meat-producing suckling animals, especially piglets, comprises a mixture of a steam-treated corn possessing an acceptable taste, vitamins and/or trace substances, and at least one non-toxic tastless iron-2-compound, for example the fumarate, succinate, or carbonate, to provide an iron content of 10-100 g. iron per kg. of the supplement. |
