PURPOSE:To improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce a manufacturing cost, by providing a means which automatically replaces a stone with a new stone if the stone, superfinishing a peripheral machined surface, is used to the wearing limit. CONSTITUTION:A device, lifting a stone holder 18 from a machining position to a detached position, moves a swivel unit 3 in the direction of a main spindle center A in the side of a driving unit 2. While the device, positioning a swivelling shaft of the swivel unit 3 to be fixed by a positioning stopper, lowers the stone holder 18 again from the detached position to the machining position. Further a stone supply unit 32 moves in a direction crossing at a right angle with the main spindle center A in the front of the driving unit 2. In this way, the device aligns on a straight line a spare stone 12a, stored in a stone housing case 37 of the stone supply unit 32, and a wearing stone 12 held to the stone holder 18. Thereafter, the spare stone 12a, while extruding the wearing stone 12, is held to the stone holder 18. |
