摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten a weak joint to the limit, and to remove or reduce the static capacitance by a method wherein the Josephson junction is formed at the point of intersection by crossing the end surface of the first superconductor film with the second superconductor film. CONSTITUTION:The surface 1a of a substrate 1 is partly provided with a lamination 5 with the first superconductor film 4 sandwiched between the first insulator film 2 and the second insulator film 3, and the second superconductor film 6 is provided by crossing with the end surface of this lamination 5. In this case, the second superconductor film 6 is provided in paratial extension by crossing over the end surface 5a of the lamination 5 projecting out of the substrate surface 1a from the substrate surface 1a to the top 5b (top of the second insulator film 3) of the lamination 5, resulting in the formation of the Josephson junction 7 at the part of contact of the end surface 4a of the first superconductor film 4 exposed in this end surface 5a with the second superconductor film 6; thereby, the bridge length substantially reduces to zero because of the direct contact of the first and second superconductor films 4 and 6. Besides, the static capacitance can be removed or reduced by making the thickness of the second insulator film 3 much larger, the width A of the second superconductor film 6 smaller, and the length B being shortened.
