<p>Compsns. (I) contain (A) aq. emulsion having as base material (II) asphalt, rubber, acrylic copolymer, or mixt. of these, and an emulsifying agent (III) which may be nonionic, anionic, or cationic, or mixt. of (III), and (B) up to 10 wt.% water-sol. polymer (IV) with thickening and binding properties and being compatible with (A). Improving properties of a heated compsn. for surface sealing and treatment contg. (A), by incorporating (B) before application is claimed. - (IV) is a carboxymethyl-, carboxymethyl hydroxyethyl-, or a hydroxypropyl hydroxyethyl-cellulose or an acrylic copolymer. (IV) comprises 0.1-1.5 wt.% on wt. of (II). (II) also contains as fibrous reinforcement 0.25-6.0 wt.% crystalline homopolymer or copolymer of propylene or ethylene. Ionic charge of (IV) is different from that of (III); partic. (IV) is anionic and (III) is cationic.</p> |
