PURPOSE:To hold and exchange a nozzle with a mechanical driving system in a short period by providing specifically guide parts to freely rotatable nozzle holding arms in the position below a lifting machine disposed in the lower part of a vessel for a molten metal and guide grooves to the outside peripheral cylinder of the lifting machine. CONSTITUTION:Nozzle holding arms 5, 6 extending radially from the axial line of vertical movement are provided via a rotating part 3 to the top end of the rod 2 of a cylinder 1 provided to the lifting machine which is fixed to the bottom of the vessel V for the molten metal and moves upward and downward in the outflow direction of the molten metal. A pair of brackets 7 constituting the guide parts 4 are perpendicularly provided to the point-symmetrical positions thereof. Guide rollers 8 are mounted on the inside thereof in the same level position. The guide grooves 10, shown in the development for guiding the rollers 8 are formed to the guide cylinder 9 fixed to the outside periphery of the cylinder 1. The molten steel flow is interrupted and the tundish is moved upward in order to prevent the collision of a nozzle 20 in the stage of exchanging the nozzle 20. A fresh nozzle 23 is set to the arm 6 and the rod 2 is moved downward. The rollers 8 move from the positions A, C to B and the arms 5, 6 rotate 180 deg. while descending. The rollers 8 return to the positions A, C when the rod 2 is moved upward. |
