PURPOSE:To allow the pitches of the adjacent conductors of inner and outer layers to coincide without gap by increasing the width of the outer layer conductor at the specific ratio than the inner layer conductor when a sheet-shaped conductor bundle is spirally wound to form coil. CONSTITUTION:A coated conductor 7 is made in a bundle in parallel to form the first sheet-shaped conductor bundle 1, which is in turn spirally wound on the outer periphery of a cylindrical core of the prescribed radius. A coated conductor 8 which is increased in the width in the amount of a ratio t/R times of the radius R of the core to the thickness t of the sheet of the conductor bundle 1 than the conductor 7 is made in a bundle to form the second sheet-shaped conductor bundle 4, which is in turn spirally wound in reverse direction on the outer periphery of the first sheet- shaped conductor bundle 1. The core is then drawn out, the cylindrical double conductor bundle 1. The core is then drawn out, the cylindrical double conductor is cut in the prescribed length, and an armature coil is manufactured.
