<p>Parachute comprising, on the one hand, a flexible canopy in the form of a wing comprising - an upper flexible wall forming a top surface, - plane ribs (4) fixed to the upper wall and interconnected by a flexible lower wall forming a substantially plane bottom surface, the said ribs (4) extending from the front part of the canopy as far as the rear part and defining, between the upper wall and the lower wall, cells, and, furthermore, shroud lines (11) connected by joining means (10) to ribs (4) and serving to suspend a load, characterised in that each rib (4) supporting the shroud lines (11) consists of a fabric in which the weft threads (12) and the warp threads (13) form, in the vicinity of each of the shroud lines (11), angles lying between 30 DEG and 60 DEG with the extension of the shroud line (11) in question. The forces are transmitted between the bottom surface and the top surface by the weft and warp threads; the use of tapes to increase the strength of the ribs can be avoided, with the result that the weight of the parachute, and its manufacturing cost, are reduced.</p> |
