PURPOSE:To shorten a processing time sharply by executing all processing such as the dot movement, compression and synthesis of picture data only by hardware. CONSTITUTION:Picture data 12 from an image pickup tube 29 is stored in a frame memory through an 1/n compression part 13 and then transferred to a video RAM 5 through a dot array part 14 and the 2nd transfer means B. An equal magnification picture out of the transferred picture data is transferred also to a video RAM 18 through the array part 14 and the 1st transfer means A. On the other hand, main storage picture data 24 from a main storage memory 1 are converted into picture data 26 compressed by an 1/n compression part 15 and transferred to a video RAM 4 through the means A. A display deivice 30 displays a picture obtained by synthesizing picture data 9 from the RAM 4 and picture data 10 from the RAM 5. The memory 1 stores only the equal amgnification picture data and the RAM 18 is formed to prevent the memory 1 from being expanded at its capacity due to the storage of the compressed data for display. |
