CONTINUOUS CASTING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent leakage of a molten metal and to extend the life of side seals by providing liquid pressure cylinders and a pressure chamber, bringing the side seals into press contact with a moving casting mold and enabling sealing between the side seals and the mold surface by pressure fluid. CONSTITUTION:The molten metal in the pool formed of the side seals and barrel seals is drawn out while said metal is cooled. The thin sheet is thus continuously cast. Said seals 3 are brought into press contact with the moving casting mold 2 by the liquid pressure cylinders 4. The pressure chamber 6 is provided in the contact part between the seals 3 and the mold 2 surface and the part between the seals 3 and the mold 2 surface is sealed by the pressure fluid. The leakage of the molten metal is thus prevented and the life of the seal 3 is extended.
