PURPOSE:To ensure the conveyance of sheets of paper from a sheet contaniner, by using a horizontal slide means to support sheet containers movably back and forth as the containers are in a stacked state, and by using a drive means to appropriately move the containers back and forth to expose the top of the front portion of the desired sheet container. CONSTITUTION:Paper trays 11, 12,..., 1n-1, which are stacked on each other, are supported by slide rails 3, 4, balls 5 and retainers 6 so that the paper trays can be moved back and forth relative to the lower paper trays 12, 13,..., 1n. A tray moving post 12 is moved back and forth by a tray moving motor 15 as occasion demands. The paper trays 11, 12,..., 1n are selectively connected to the post 12 by coupling means 161, 162,..., 16n-1. As a result, the top of the front portion of a desired paper tray 2j can be exposed to feed sheets P, Q of paper to a copying machine 1 by a vertically swung paper conveyance mechanism 25 to perform copying on the sheets. |
