PURPOSE:To enhance reliability against impulses due to a thunderbolt by providing two insulating angle barriers extended along an end surface of a winding from an end of a static shielding body formed by winding an electrode and insulator of a thin sheet layer alternately one by one turn on the outer side of a basic insulating cylinder disposed contiguous to the winding. CONSTITUTION:An high voltage end shield 34 is provided along the upper end of a winding 10. This end shield 34 is connected with a line terminal and covered with an insulator 35 of large coating thickness. Two L-shaped insulating angle barriers 36 and 37 are provided along the outer surface of the high voltage end shield 34 over the upper end of the winding 10 from both sides of an end 30a of a static shielding body 30. The winding arranged in this way allows its series static cappacitance to be equivalently increased by the static shielding body 30. Since the static shielding body 30 is made integral with a basic insulating cylinder 31, it is made small in size and light in weight, and easy to manufacture. Since an end of an electrode 32 at the end 30a of the static shielding body 30 is, so to speak, sandwiched by both metal shields 38 of the insulating angle barriers 36 and 37, an electric field is by no means concentrated at this end 30a. |
