PURPOSE:To separate boron contained in the waste water efficiently and inexpensively by mixing boron-contg. waste water with ash mixture consisting of incineration ash or electrically precipitated ash collected by an electric dust precipitator from scattered ash in the waste gas of an incinerating furnace, and separating the mixture into solid and liquid. CONSTITUTION:Boron-contg. waste water from a line 1 is mixed with incineration ash or with electrically precipitated ash (EP ash) collected from scattered ash contained in the waste gas of an incineration furnace by an electric dust precipitator. Then, the boron in the waste water is treated by transferring it to suspended solid side (SS) of the incinerated ash or EP ash by separating the solid from the liquid of the mixture. The slid/liquid separation stage may be combined with a flocculation-precipitation process using ferric chloride or aluminium sulphate in order to improve separating function of SS. For this process, an injection line 3 of ferric chloride or aluminium sulphate and an injection line 4 of acid or alkali are provided.
