PURPOSE:To make electrostatic force successively disappear from a section where an attracted body can be removed, by partially controlling the electrostatic force. CONSTITUTION:When the front edge of a photosensitive material 6 contacts a reference pin 23, the contact is detected by a sensor 90 and a bed 30 moves in the direction shown by the arrow A. At the same time, electrostatic attracting members 11 and 13 are set to conditions where they can make their electrostatically attracting operations. Therefore, the material 6 is successively attracted to the upper surface of an electrostatic attracting device 10 and, when the material 6 is completely attracted to the device 10, the bed 30 stops its movement and starts to move in the direction shown by the arrow B. Simultaneously, an optical beam scanning device 110 operates and picture recording on the material 6 is started. At the stage where all recording operations have completed, the rear and part of the material 6 can be removed immediately. Therefore, the material 6 can be removed without waiting for the disappearance of residual electric charges on an electrostatic attracting member 12.
