PURPOSE:The titled composition useful for coating, having improved flexibility, alkali resistance, water resistance, scratching resistance, and small thickness of film, consisting of epoxy resin, a polyester of a polyether dicarboxylic acid and an alicyclic dibasic acid anhydride. CONSTITUTION:(A) Epoxy resin is blended with (B) (i) a polyester of (ii) a polyester dicarboxylic acid, which consists of 1mol polyester polyol or polyether polyol having >=200 average molecular weight and 1.8-2.0mol alicycic dibasic acid component, and has a terminal carboxyl group, and (C) an alicycilc dibasic acid anhydride (e.g., tetrahydrophthalic acid), to give the desired composition. In blending, preferably an amount of the components B+C is 0.8-0.95 equivalent based on 1 equivalent component A, and a weight ratio of the component B/C is 2/8-4/6.
