<p>PURPOSE:To obtain bar code-reading of a big commodity with a simple means by tilting a center line in a bar code reading area by means of a bar code reading window arranged on the lower forward of a main body ahead of a plumb line. CONSTITUTION:Since a center line 7 of a bar code reading area tilts ahead of a plumb line 8, a bar code 47 attached to a too big commodity 46 to enter an interval 10 can be read if the big commodity 46 is tilted and only a bar code pattern is set to a bar code reader. The bar code pattern 47 changes an optical path through a window 48 by means of three reflecting mirrors 40, 41 and 42, and image-formed on the one-dimensional image pickup element by an optical system 43. The one-dimensional image pickup element is supported on a print substrate, and amplifier, shaping and binary-coding circuits of an output electrical signal of the one-dimensional image pickup element are accommodated in the print substrate. A binary signal is decoded in a bar code decoding part (not shown in the figure) accommodated at the bottom of a stand 51.</p> |
