In a device for controlling the pressing-on pressure or the pressing-on force of an impression cylinder (4) onto a main cylinder (1), the force exerted by the impression cylinder (4) on the main cylinder (1) is measured by a load cell (6) and adjusted via a servo system which acts on the suspension device (5) of the impression cylinder (4). For optimum adaptation of the mechanical boundary condition of the load cell (6) in terms of rigidity and measuring range, a spring (7) is mounted in series with the load cell (6) with a lower spring constant than that of the load cell (6). The invention is applied in cylinder regulation in the production of paper. <IMAGE>
