PURPOSE:To attain to miniaturize a wind sensor and to improve durability and accuracy, by detecting wind velocity and a wind direction by detecting the change in the pressure in a pressure chamber by inflow air. CONSTITUTION:Pressure holes 7a-7d are provided to the side walls 3 of pressure chambers 6a-6d formed of stainless diaphragms 4a-4b in directions crossing at right angles to each other so as to be communicated with the open air. The air stream flowed in from the direction shown by the arrow W passes slits 5 and flowed into the pressure holes 7a, 7b. The pressures in the pressure chambers 6a, 6b are raised and positive distortions corresponding to the pressures are generated in the diaphragms 4b. Because the angle theta of the wind direction W is small, the rising degree of pressure is higher in the pressure chamber 6a as compared with the pressure chamber 6b and the distortion of the diaphragm 4a is larger than that of the diaphragm 4b. The output of a strain gauge 8a is larger than that of a strain gauge 8b, and a wind direction and wind velocity are uniquely determined by comparing both outputs. |
