The invention relates to an instrument serving to measure the percentage of oxygen contained in the ambient air and to trigger an incorporated audible alarm when this percentage becomes dangerous for human respiration. It is constituted by a casing 1 mounted on a bracelet 2 and containing the sensor 3, the signal processing unit 4 and the batteries 5. The device according to the invention is in particular intended to alert the users to a decrease in the level of oxygen contained in the air which they breathe which is dangerous for the body. <IMAGE>
