PURPOSE:To obtain a positive relief image colored to high density by forming a positive relief image in a photosensitive layer consisting of a diacetone acrylamide-acrylamide copolymer and a water-insoluble 1,2-quinonediazido compound and by dyeing the image with an aqueous dye soln. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer consisting of a diacetone acrylamide- acrylamide copolymer and a water-insoluble 1,2-quinonediazido compound is formed on a support. It is preferable that the copolymer consists of 20-50mol% diacetone acrylamide and 50-80mol% acrylamide. The photosensitive layer is patternwise exposed through a positive original and immersed in an aqueous alkali soln. The 1,2-quinonediazido compound decomposed in the exposed part is leached from the photosensitive layer, and the compound in the unexposed part is not leached at all. The photosensitive layer is then washed with water. Since the unexposed part contg. the 1,2-quinonediazido compound has water resistance, it is not removed by the washing, so a positive relief image is formed. The relief image can be dyed to high density with a dye soln. |
