A burner, supplied with fuel and air, is used for drying and heating joint gaps being filled with a cast material. It has a nozzle-type funnel, tapering in the direction of flow, directing a mixture of gas and compressed air onto the gap. The burner(9) is mounted in the open air, ahead of the wide opening (2) on the funnel(1). The funnel has a tapering sheathing with an annular space (4) for compressed air, and there is an annular gap (5) close to its outlet (3), pref. 0.5 mm wide. The funnel holder may also serve as a supply pipe (7) for compressed air, while the gas burner is movable along the funnel axis. This layout permits good observation of drying and heating, and good control of combustion and of direction of the mixture. |
