PURPOSE:To cause the sulfuric acid neutralizing action of cylinder-supplied oil to prevent a cylinder liner from corroding due to acid, by detecting the acid value, total basic value or the equivalence of the inside surface of the cylinder liner to control the quantity of the cylinder-supplied oil depending on the detected value. CONSTITUTION:A detector 11 such as a dew indicator and a sulfuric ion sensor is mounted in an appropriate position 6 on the inside surface of a cylinder liner 1. The value detected in the position 6 is applied to a controller 7 and compared with a prescribed reference value. If the result of the comparison is that the detected value is higher than the reference value, the discharge of a cylinder oil push-out pump 8 is increased. If the result is that the detected value is lower than the reference value, the discharge of the pump 8 is decreased. The sulfuric acid neutralizing action of oil supplied to a cylinder is utilized so that the corrosion of the cylinder liner 1 due to the generation of sulfuric acid is minimized. |
