PURPOSE:To obtain a color picture with high resolution by using a monochrome image pickup element and also storing only a chrominance signal not requiring a low resolution. CONSTITUTION:Filters R, G, B, and Y provided between a light source 1 and a color film 9 are inserted sequentially in an optical path. Tn output of the monochrome image pickup element 11 to which a light transmitted through the film 9 is applied is given to a process circuit 13. An output of the filters R, B requiring only a low resolution among outputs of the process circuit is A/D-converted 14 and stored respectively in memories 16 and 17. Then an R and a G signal stored in the memories 16, 17 in advance are outputted respectively from D/A converters 18, 19 and color display is conducted in matching with a G signal being an output of the process circuit 13. Thus, a color picture with a high resolution is obtained in this way. |
