On an apparatus for measuring oestrus in animals, particularly in fur bearing animals such as foxes, expressed in electrical resistance in ohms in the mucous membranes of the genital openings in order to be able to establish the best possible time (for example 0-3 days counted from the measured top value in ohms) for mating or insemination, and including a line standard (1) with electrodes (2, 3) intended for insertion into the animal's genital openings during measurement, a power supply unit including an accumulator battery, and a measuring instrument with a reading scale for indication of the measured ohm values, where everything has been done to eliminate high false ohm values, and this without use of diodes which because of their non-linear characteristics require different methods for compensation. This is achieved in that the line standard's (1) electrodes (2, 3) are coupled to an integrated circuit (IC-1) which is coupled so that it functions as a current direction changer, whereby during measurement a direct current moves through the measurement object (the animal) equally long in each direction, so that polarization effects are avoided. The voltage drop (U1) the current causes through the measurement object is transferred to a microprocessor which is programmed to always show only the lowest ohm values represented in said current (U1).<IMAGE> |
