POSITION INDICATION SYSTEM

A nuclear reactor control rod position system comprises the control rods connected to drive rods movable within a group of detector coils. Bilateral switches are connected to the respective coils of the detectors and a control circuit sequentially provides an enabling control signal to the various groups of bilateral switches connected to the respective detectors so that ther coils of each detector in turn are connected to a single signal processing circuit which may be located inside or outside the containment strcuture of the reactor.
