PURPOSE:To joint together terminals of a belt in a short time, by a method wherein only the cover rubber layers of a joint estimating part between the surface of the end and the back surface of the other end of a belt are temporarily adhered to each other, and each steel cord of such portion is brought into nonadherence to an adhering rubber and the cover rubber layer. CONSTITUTION:When the terminals of a belt coveyor 1 are joined together, cut is first effected along a cut start line 2 stamped on the surface of a cover rubber 5 which is a joint estimating part at the one end of the belt 1, the cover rubber 5 is peeled off through a way to a cut terminal line 2' to bring into a half- peeled-off state. Thereafter cuts 8 are made in a peeled-off surface 6 by the diameter of a cord 7 along both sides of the cord 7 in relation to each of the steel cords 7. A special knife is placed in the cut 8 and rises up the cord 7 to separate the cord from an adhering rubber, and the separated cord 7 is reburied in an original groove. After adhesives are applied on the reburied cord 7 and the adhering rubber of a peeled-off surface exposed between the cords 7, the cover rubber 5 is stuck to the peeled-off surface. |
