PURPOSE:To decrease the number of switch circuits and to attain the switching in accordance with the characteristics of the using tape, by attaining the shared use system of a changeover switch for bias current in a record mode and a changeover switch for characteristics of a reproduction equalizer. CONSTITUTION:This tape recorder has a switch S1 which performs switching simultaneously of the bias current in a record mode and the equalizer characteristics in a reproduction mode in accordance with use of a normal tape or a metallic tape. Then the bias current of the record mode and the equalizer characteristics of the reproduction mode are switched through a circuit of the switch S1 corresponding to the use of a normal tape and a metallic tape. As a result, the conventional two switch circuits can be reduced down to one. Thus it is possible to decrease the number of switch circuits and to perform the switching in accordance with the characteristics of the using tape. |
