PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of legs by alleviating bending loads to jack-up legs by strongly reinforcing the part between the leg footing and the platform. CONSTITUTION:The platform 3 of jack-up legs where a platform 3 is supported on the water surface L by plural leg footings fixed to the seabed 1 is jacked up. The other ends of each wire 4 or chains whose one ends are connected to the lower part of each leg footing are bound with winches 5 provided in the connections of the platform 3 and the adjacent leg footings 2 for staying. Since the bearing force against sideward loads of tidal waves, wind, etc., of the jack- up legs applied in the method can be reinforced by stay by the wires or chains, the weight of the jack-up leg itself can be reduced and the construction cost can be cut down. |
