PURPOSE:To perform welding and rust preventive painting with the same welding robot and to improve working efficiency by attaching spot welding electrodes and painting guns to the tip of the arm of said robot. CONSTITUTION:Spot welding electrodes 3 are attached so as to face forward to the tip of the arm 2 of a robot 1 and a pair of upper and lower painting guns 4, 5 are attached to face backward. The lower gun 5 is attached to the bottom end of the piston rod 6a of a lifting cylinder 6 attached to the arm 2. The guns are thus attached to face diagonally downward and diagonally upward with respect to each other. A panel frame 9, as an object to be treated, conveyed by a conveyor 8 is spot-welded with the electrodes 3, 3 and thereafter the gun 5 is lowered and a paint is sprayed from said gun and from the gun 4, by which the rust preventive painting is accomplished. The gun 5 is lifted upon ending of the painting, and the frame 9 is moved. A fresh panel frame is carried into the welding and painting position and the next welding and painting are carried out. |
