The modular tanker or other ship building involves bottom sections, intermediate decks, upper deck, and sides, which are all interconnected at the assembly station. To separate the deck and bottom outfitting operations and associated subassembly work from the main modular assembly station, the upper deck (1) section is raised at the assembly station above the first mid deck level. This deck (2) is then raised below, and connected to, the upper deck, followed by the second mid deck (3) below, and connected, to these. - After these three sections have been assembled, a bottom section (4) is installed and connected to the assembly, followed in turn by the side sections (5,6) to complete the module.
