PURPOSE:To prevent mixing of reaction gas diffused from the side of electrode through formation of electrode substrate by arranging a graphite sheet extending from the edge of carbon property layer between the porous carbon property layers having a group of tunnels. CONSTITUTION:A graphite sheet 8 having average bulk density of 1.0g/cm<3> or more, gas transmitting degree of 0.2ml/cm.hr.mm.Ag or less is disposed in such a manner as being extending from the edge surface of carbon property layer 7 between the porous carbon property layers 7 having a plurality of tunnels 9 consisting of polyethylene at the center, average bulk density of 0.4-0.8g/cm<3> and gas transmitting degree of 20ml/cm.hr.mm.Ag or more, and these are laminated. A manihold 11 is arranged around the carbon property layer 7 through a sealing material 10. Accordingly, a bending strength can be enhanced, gas diffusion resistance can be made small and mixing of reaction gas leaking from the edge surface can be prevented securely, thereby improving the efficiency. |
