PURPOSE:To lighten an operation burden of an operator and also to input a character which does not exist on a keyboard by displaying in advance on a display part a character which cannot be inputted from a body part, and inputting it from an auxiliary part, in accordance with a shift state of the body part. CONSTITUTION:For instance, in case when an arithmetic equation (a+b)<1.01>X5= X is inputted, first of all, a PF1 key for designating an input start of the arithmetic equation is inputted from a body part 1a. A processing device 4 releases a shift, detects an operator, the sign of equality and a character of a parenthesis from a font memory 3, and displays them on a display device in accordance with arrangement of a ten key 1b. Subsequently, ''1'', namely '' ('' is inputted from the ten-key 1b), and thereafter, in the same way, an operator +, **, X, =, etc. are inputted from the ten-key 1b, and variables (a), (b) and X, and a constant 1.01 and 5 are inputted from the body part 1a. During this time, the shift operation is not required. A calculating equation input end key is a reset key. The input result is displayed on the display device 2. |
