PURPOSE:To assure high watertightness and airtightness, by sealing optical fibers into a sealing fitting by means of sealants and metallic sleeves having good adhesion. CONSTITUTION:Copper is coated on the part 11 removed of covering of an optical fiber 12 which is partly or fully removed of the covering. A metallic sleeve 13 is fixed by means of an adhesive agent 14 on the fiber 12 adjacent to the part 11. A part of the sleeve 13 and the part 11 are sealed and fixed by means of a solder alloy 16 in a sealing fitting 15 having a through-hole. Since the sleeve 13 and the alloy 16 have good adhesion, high watertightness and airtightness are assured. |
