PURPOSE:To make available to heat a foodstuff at a prescribed temperature while detecting a temperature of a container surface and to improve a cooking result, in a heating device adapted to utilize a non-contact type thermometer in measuring the side face temperature of a foodstuff, and thereby controllably heating the foodstuff. CONSTITUTION:An infra-red ray radiant thermometer 4 has its output signal inputted to a microcomputer 10 via an amplifier 16, while the thermometer 4 is provided with a shutter 6 adapted to detect a surface temperature of foodstuff 7 placed inside a cooking chamber 1 through a small hole 5 defined in a side wall of the cooking chamber 1. An output signal of the thermometer 4 indicates a surface temperature of a container 8 as a cooking foodstuff 7. The microcomputer 10 functions to calculate a first heating temperature TX as a substract of a predetermined value S2 from a set temperature TS as set by a setting section, and interrupt a heating operation upon the thermometer detecting the first heating temperature TX, or upon a predetermined time being passed after start-up of the heating. Measurement is also performed for a varying temperature of foodstuff while the heating operation is being interrupted, and the heating device is controlled to resume its operation depending on the result of measurement. |
