摘要 |
PURPOSE:To increase the sensitivity of an infrared ray detection element by a method wherein lead titanate PbTiO3 porcelain with its polarizing axis caused to predominantly face in the direction perpendicular to the surface of an electrode is used as the infrared ray detection element. CONSTITUTION:Material powder prepared by adding 0.8-1.2mol% MnO2 and 1.0-2.0mol% La2O3 to a mixture of, for instance, PbO and TiO2 is throughly mixed in wet condition and temporarily burned at 850 deg.C and then formed in a preselected cylindrical shape after crushing it again. Pressure applied by a uniaxial hot press is applied in the direction shown by the arrow where the pressurizing direction of the axis of a specimen 5 and the direction of its breadth conform to each other. The hot press is used within the temperature range of 900-1,150 deg.C and the pressurizing range of 100-400kg/cm<2> for 1-4hrs. By thus making the polarizing axis predominantly face in the direction perpendicular to the surface of an electrode, the sensitivity of an infrared ray detection element can be increased. |
