<p>PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a reclaimed cathode ray tube by reducing the harmful hydrocarbon gas produced in a glass bulb in the reclaiming process where a defective electron gun is replaced. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum tank 6 is evacuated then the neck 2c of a glass bulb 2 is cut to remove the defective electron gun 4. Thereafter CO2 gas containing water is supplied through a gas feed path 9 into the vacuum tank 6 and filled in the glass valve 2. Then the neck cutting mouth is choked to block the flow- out of CO2 gas from the glass bulb 2 and after heating under 250-300 deg.C, a neck tube 2c is welded to the neck cutting mouth. Thereafter the interior of the glass bulb 2 is cleaned by water or acid liquid to protect the phosphor film at the panel side 2a, while the unnecessary getter on the inner face of a funnel section 2b is removed as much as possible then the interior of the glass tube 2 is dried and a new electron gun 4 provided with getter 17 is encapsulated in the neck tube 2c and to perform the evacuation of the glass bulb 2 and the getter flush.</p> |
