PURPOSE:To increase the open-circuit voltage of a solid lithium battery, and increase the effective consumption rate of a positive active material by preparing the positive active material by use of at least one compound chosen from among bismuth iodide and antimony iodide. CONSTITUTION:A positive active material is prepared in such a way as described below. At first, mixture consisting of given amounts of BiI3 or/and SbI3 which have given purities is mixed with given amounts of elements such as Pb, Sn, Ge, Si, Te, Se, S, Zr and Ti, and thus obtained mixture powder is heated to over the melting points of BiI3 or/and SbI3 (439 deg.C for BiI3; 167 deg.C for SbI3) so as to diffuse the above elements among the crystals (grids) of BiI3 or/and SbI3. These reactions are preferred to be carried out in a sealed container in order to prevent the sublimation of BiI3 or/and SbI3. Thus prepared BiI3 or/and SbI3, on actual use, are crushed in a dry atmosphere of an inactive gas into a powder of a given grain diameter. |
