PURPOSE:To prevent a coil from being damaged by deformation by a constitution wherein a coil pressing plate is fixed in contact with the flange of a coil former by a coil-former guide so that it touches a rectangular copper wire closely so as to press the wire with an appropriate force. CONSTITUTION:When a winding shaft 3 is rotated, a coil pressing plate 8 and a coil-former guide 9 press a rectangular copper wire 1 in the direction perpendicular to the winding shaft 3 with an appropriate force by a slider 5, while touching the flange 22 of a coil former 2 slidably, and wind the wire 1 round the mandrel 21 of the coil former 2 in an edgewise winding manner. The copper wire 1 of which the winding is ended is let out sequentially in a spiral form outside the coil pressing plate 8. By this constitution, an edgewise-wound field coil is formed without damaging the coil by deformation. |
