PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a power cylinder thus to reduce the space required for mounting on the chassis, by providing a rack on a piston rod moving in a cylinder while connecting a wheel steering mechanism to a pinion gearing with said rack. CONSTITUTION:A crank member 18 is fixed through a conrod 2 to a wheel steering mechanism 17, while the crank member 18 is fixed to a pinion shaft 15. A power cylinder 21 is provided with operating oil supply chambers S1, S2 while rack teeth 23a are provided on a piston rod 23 to be moved by the power cylinder 21. The rack 23a will gear with the pinion 15a to apply the auxiliary power to an operating shaft 12. Since the rack teeth are provided on the piston rod, the size of the power cylinder is reduced thereby the car space is never influenced. |
