PURPOSE:To eliminate an interference of laser rays between an adjoining photo detecting element pair, and to contrive to stabilize output of a semiconductor light emitting device by a method wherein a semiconductor light emitting element and a photo detecting element are constituted of the same semiconductor substrate, and cleavages between the light emitting element and the photo detecting element are provided on a common metal layer. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 2, a fiber stand 21 having layer structure the same with the laser 2 thereof and a photo detecting element 23 are put on a common metal layer 24. Spherical tip fiber 22 is set up on the fiber stand 21, a nonreflective film 25 is provided on the side of the photo detecting element 23 facing the laser 2, and a photo absorbent 26 is provided on the opposite side thereof. Gold plating of prescribed thickness is applied on the back of a wafer constituted by this way, notch lines 27-1-27-4 are cut at the positions to divide the laser 2, the photo detecting element 23 and the fiber stand 21 on the surface of the wafer thereof, the wafer is cleaved, and interference of laser rays between the adjoining photo detecting element 23 pair is eliminated to attain stabilization of output. |
