A pot-type diaphragm which consists of flexible material (rubber) and a textile insert and is used in valves, cylinders or the like which are actuated by pressure media, is to be made from material with considerably thinner wall thickness. The danger of crack formation which as arises as a result of this material weakening is to be countered according to the invention by special design of the textile insert or by a given positioning of the textile threads in relation to one another.
