<p>The appts. consists of a cable winding drum and winding arm which is on a common vertical axis of rotation with the drum. The arm and the drum are driven simultaneously but in the opposite sense of rotation. The wire is supplied at speeds between 1200 and 1600 metre/minute, and the speed of the drum and winder arm are each of the order of half of the wire supply speed. Two drum stations are provded and the winder arm can be moved from one to the other. A gude and cutter is situated between the two drums, which are driven at the same speed but in opposite senses of rotation. A plate, associated to a system of linkages and a jack, s vertically dsplaceable to maintain the wire in positon.</p> |
