PURPOSE:To completely eliminate inconvenience for a coin type public telephone set, by constituting a public telephone set making a call through the use of a magnetic card. CONSTITUTION:When a handset is lifted up from a telephone set 1 and a card is inserted to a magnetic card handler 2, a card insertion signal is given from a card detector 2a to a card control section 5. Then, the section 5 gives a card control signal to a control section 2i, carries a card to a card holder 2c, and a magnetic head 2d reads magnetic stripes. The read data is divided into a key code and a monetray data at a magnetic head control section 6 and they are given to a main control section 3 and a storage operation section 7. Thus, a control section 3 connects a channel line of the telephone set 1, and the section 7 makes residual display to a display section 8. When the call is finished, residual amount information is written in the card with the head 2d and the card is delivered to a return section 2f. On the other hand, if a call is made to a full of the recorded content of the card, the call is stopped based on a signal of residual amount =0 from the section 7. |
